My son, my son, what have ye done?

OK so if I’m breaking down my top five heroes all time, I’m probably starting with David Lynch and Werner Herzog. Maybe #1 and #2, maybe #2 and #3, I don’t know – I don’t know if I can rank one higher than the other, but if I had to, I’d probably put Herzog first. BUT BARELY. Felix Hernandez is hanging out with David Foster Wallace below them, maybe Kafka somewhere, maybe, ah well- nevermind.

ANYWAY.

Somehow things came together in this terrible universe of ours: David Lynch and Werner Herzog made a movie together! Lynch producing, Herzog directing, and awesome coming out all over. The movie is My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done and centers around the real-life matricide committed by Mark Yavorsky in San Diego. It’s got all the trappings of both Lynch and Herzog: fringe characters, unsettled suburbia, violence, and midgets. This looks like it could not be possibly be anything less than awesome, but we’ll see.

I can’t embed the thing, but you can view the trailer here. Try to ignore the stupid, over-cooked voiceover.
